SENIOR AUTOMATION QA WANTED?
Talent Hunter is looking for an experienced Oracle Database Engineer to join a dynamic IT environment, working with complex, mission-critical systems. This is a hands-on role where you will take ownership of enterprise-scale Oracle database platforms while contributing to the evolution toward Microsoft and Azure-based data solutions.
Your role & impact: As a Quality Engineer, you will play a hands-on role in shaping how quality is built sprint by sprint. You’ll work closely with developers and product owners to ensure systems meet high standards for performance, compliance, and reliability under real-world conditions.
Key responsibilities:
- Designing and executing comprehensive test scenarios covering functional, integration, and regression testing
- Collaborating closely with developers, product owners, and analysts to refine testable user stories and acceptance criteria (functional & non-functional)
- Building and maintaining robust test data and reusable test artefacts, embedded into CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Azure DevOps)
- Delivering and evolving test automation, replacing manual testing with scalable automated solutions where possible
- Driving root cause analysis of defects and applying risk-based test prioritisation
- Actively participating in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives) to promote early quality involvement
- Championing a quality-first culture, including security, accessibility, and usability considerations
- Continuously improving testing practices, tooling, and automation frameworks
Essential experience & skills:
- 5+ years of hands-on QA experience across development and integrated systems
- 3+ years of experience testing APIs and services
- Strong understanding and practical application of Agile methodologies (BDD, TDD, pairing, etc.)
- Experience reviewing and testing component designs and specifications from high-level architectures
- Experience working in CI/CD environments
- Knowledge delivering and maintaining test automation frameworks integrated into CI/CD pipelines
- Strong experience with UI testing for browser and mobile applications
- Experience working in a mid-sized corporate or enterprise environment
- Automation experience with Selenium, Cypress, Cucumber or similar tools
- Familiarity with Agile tooling such as Jira and Confluence
- Non-functional testing (performance, load, stress, soak testing – e.g. JMeter)
- Azure DevOps, Application Insights, Mailpit/Mailhog
- Testing of RESTful web services
- Database technologies: SQL, PL/SQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, PostgreSQL
- Web technologies: JSON, XML, HTML, CSS, SCSS, JavaScript
- Experience in financially regulated environments (banking, insurance, fintech)
