As an engineer within this team, you will work on a high-performance timeseries database underpinning our data platform. This database stores timeseries data—such as the price history for a security—at scale, enabling the research and development of new trading strategies.
We are looking for a product-focused C++ Еngineer. You will contribute to a modern C++ codebase, developed by experienced timeseries database engineers, and collaborate with stakeholders across the business to help develop this database into a state-of-the-art solution.
Your challenges will include:
- Developing the core database, currently storing over 500TB of data
- Collaborating with users to define and develop analytics capabilities
- Handling data at scale, including systems streaming over 3 billion ticks per day
- Designing and deploying systems to ensure production resiliency
Technology Skills
Essential:
- Excellent C++ skills
- Interest in modern database and storage technologies with a willingness to learn more
- Strong academic record and a degree with high mathematical or computing content, such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or Physics from a leading university
Advantageous:
- Knowledge of Python and experience with modern Python data tools such as Pandas, NumPy, and Spark
- An interest in financial markets and instruments
- Experience with modern cloud storage technologies such as S3 and Azure Blob Storage
