The Company has an exciting opportunity for a DataOps Engineer with proven database administration and engineering skills to enhance and automate our database platforms, including Oracle, SQLServer, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and InfluxDB. As a key contributor within our expert database engineering team, you will lead technological innovation and manage daily operations. Your role involves integrating DevOps practices with tools like Kubernetes, Jenkins, Ansible, and Terraform to enhance the reliability of our production systems.

You will have the opportunity to work with innovative technologies, gaining expertise in automation, real-time monitoring, and metrics collection using leading open-source tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and InfluxDB.

In this role you will:

  • Manage and optimize Oracle, SQLServer, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and InfluxDB clusters in a high-availability production setting.
  • Utilize your strong Python skills to integrate and automate systems efficiently.
  • Apply your deep understanding of database architecture and performance trade-offs to maintain and enhance our database estate.
  • Provide essential development and production support, collaborating with technology peers to deliver robust solutions for our organization.
  •  Implement and maintain high-security standards across databases, contributing to a consistently reliable service delivery.
  • Build proofs of concept to test innovative solutions.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience managing Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL and MongoDB clusters in a high-availability, mission-critical production environment.
  • Proficient in Python for system integration and scripting automation tasks.
  • Proven knowledge of database systems’ architectures, internals, and trade-offs.
  • Good working knowledge of Linux, Windows Servers, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in using continuous integration and configuration management tools, for example, Jenkins, Ansible, TeamCity, and Octopus.
  • Familiarity with version control using Git.
  • Participate in an on-call support rota.

Native level of communication skills in English.

Nice to have:

  • STEM bachelor’s or higher degree or equivalent experience.
  •   SRE background.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure automation and configuration management tooling such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Experience of designing, building, and configuring Data-Guard, Always-On and RMAN.
  • Development experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Prometheus, InfluxDB and Telegraf.
