Our client is a company in the banking industry with a focus on modernization, digitalization, and development of their IT department. We are seeking an experienced professional Team Lead for Database and Application Administrators teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of database administrators and an application team to ensure the delivery of high-quality management and maintenance of our databases.
  • Participate in evaluating new technologies to improve efficiency, security and overall service levels.
  • Ensure that all databases are configured, maintained and monitored in line with companies’ standards.
  • Collaborate with other teams within the organization to identify opportunities for enhancing data quality and optimizing performance.
  • Create guidelines, procedures, and documentation related to database administration activities for use by the DBA team.
  • Be responsible for ensuring all user access controls are properly managed across all company databases.
  • Manage the recovery procedures for all systems including backups and disaster recovery plans.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills as you will need to liaise with other departments within the company.
  • You should possess the ability to troubleshoot problems quickly and efficiently.
  • We expect you to stay up-to-date with industry trends and new technologies related to database management.
  • You must prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • We are looking for someone who is proactive and can identify areas for improvement in our existing processes and procedures.
  • You should be familiar with security protocols and best practices relating to database management.
  • You should have a strong technical background and experience working with MSSQL and/or Oracle databases.
  • Strong knowledge in MSSQL and/or Oracle databases;
  • Working with DWH teams.
  • Disaster recovery and backup management.
  • Data integrity management

Management:

  • Take ownership of the workflow, workloads and mentoring of the current team.
  • Develop strong relationships with Product Owners, Product Managers, and other team members.
  • Collaborate closely with other IT teams to provide engaging and clear insights in the appropriate context, enabling actionable recommendations.
  • Enhance data accessibility within the department, including building business cases to enrich the data warehouse and improve the quality of analysis.
  • Build a comprehensive way of working with clear reporting and ownership to other stakeholders and senior management.
  • Excellent communication skills as you will need to liaise with other departments within the company
