We are seeking an Associate Platform Engineer specializing in FinOps to lead the design, optimization, and financial governance of our cloud and on-premises infrastructure. You will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between engineering and finance, ensuring our platform solutions are high-performing, scalable, and cost-efficient.
Key Responsibilities:
• Cloud Governance: Design and implement FinOps practices within Azure platform workflows to drive cost accountability.
• Optimization & Strategy: Lead rate optimization (Reservations, Savings Plans, Spot VMs) and workload efficiency using the Azure Well-Architected Framework (WAF).
• Automation: Integrate FinOps tooling into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub/DevOps) and enforce cost-control via Infrastructure as Code (Bicep/Terraform).
• Reporting & Analysis: Develop sophisticated cost visibility dashboards using Power BI and Azure Monitor for forecasting and anomaly detection.
• Collaboration: Partner with Procurement and Engineering squads to manage Enterprise Agreements (EA/MCA) and MACC commitments.
Key Technologies:
• Cloud Provider: Microsoft Azure (Cost Management + Billing, Azure Advisor, Azure Policy).
• IaC & DevOps: Bicep, Terraform, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions.
• Data & Analytics: Power BI, Azure Monitor, Cost Analysis tools.
• Governance: RBAC, Management Groups, and Azure Landing Zones.
• Hybrid Systems: On-premises virtualization cost management and chargeback/showback models.
Qualifications:
• Certification: FinOps Certified Practitioner (Intermediate/Advanced).
• Experience: Proven track record in Azure cost optimization, financial modeling, and cloud forecasting.
• Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with IaC, automated resource tagging, and cloud guardrail enforcement.
• Soft Skills: Strong ability to translate complex cloud spend into actionable business insights for stakeholders.
