We are currently looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join the engineering team of our client – an innovative company developing cutting-edge energy management solutions (EMS).
The Role
- This position sits at the intersection of software engineering and energy systems. You will develop and maintain core services for a specialized Energy Management System, handling real-time data from energy storage systems, solar installations, and grid infrastructure.
Tech Stack & Infrastructure
- Language: Java 21
- Architecture: OSGi framework, Edge and Cloud backend services
- Data: InfluxDB (time-series data)
- Cloud: Azure
- Monitoring: Grafana, Telegraf
- Protocols: Modbus, MQTT (IoT focused)
What you will do:
- Develop and maintain backend services for a high-performance EMS platform.
- Design and implement data pipelines for real-time telemetry from energy systems.
- Build integrations with IoT devices using industrial protocols like Modbus and MQTT.
- Optimize time-series data storage and retrieval in InfluxDB.
- Collaborate on edge-to-cloud architecture for distributed energy resources.
- Monitor system performance and implement improvements using Grafana dashboards.
What we are looking for:
- 3+ years of professional experience in Java development.
- Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and building production-grade backend services.
- A problem-solving mindset capable of navigating complex, real-time systems.
Highly Valued:
- Experience with IoT, device integration, or industrial protocols (Modbus/MQTT).
- Hands-on experience with Azure and time-series databases (InfluxDB).
- Interest or background in electrical systems (Photovoltaics, Energy Storage, Grid infrastructure).
