We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator for our client that will play a critical role in managing and optimizing our organization’s databases to ensure high performance, availability, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain SQL Server databases for both on-premise and Azure environments.
Install and configure SQL Server products and databases.
Optimize database, stored procedures and query performance, ensuring efficient operations.
Administer backup, recovery, and replication processes for SQL Server databases.
Implement and manage SQL Server security protocols.
Write, maintain, and optimize Transact-SQL code.
Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to ensure system reliability.

Required Skills

5-7 years of experience as an SQL Database Administrator.
Operational experience of large database and complex systems.
Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent.
Experience with cloud-based database management (AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, or similar cloud platforms).
Knowledge of Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instances.
Proficiency with automation tools like PowerShell, Python, or Bash for database administration tasks.
Understanding of DevOps methodologies and experience integrating databases into Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines

Other Responsibilities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide.
Training and one on one support end users.
Excellent documentation skills.
Ability to multitask with multiple projects and helpdesk requests.
Experience with extensive data cleansing projects in the past.

Skills and Knowledge Required

Proven experience with high-availability (HA) SQL solutions.
Extensive knowledge and use of Always-On Availability Groups.
Expertise with SQL Server 2019 and higher.
Strong background in database design, T-SQL coding, and performance optimization.
Experience troubleshooting stored procedures and query performance
Proficient in constructing and maintaining physical data models.
Experience in leading/managing other DBAs preferred scripting, and performance tuning.
Experience troubleshooting stored procedures and query performance issues.
Skilled in developing and managing physical data models.
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and independent approach.
Leadership experience or prior involvement in mentoring/managing other DBAs is a plus
